DAA BOARD ELECTION 2018: THE CANDIDATES


Mark Brown – Carat

Mark Brown is EVP, Managing Director – Chevrolet (US) at Carat.   He is an advertising industry veteran, with over thirty years of media and marketing experience.  In his new role at Carat, Mark leads the team responsible for all media strategy, investment and analytics on the U.S. Chevrolet account.  He is excited to be part of the Carat team in Detroit working on such an iconic and dynamic brand.


Prior to joining Carat, Mark has held similar positions at Canvas Worldwide, Initiative, Garage Team Mazda, Doner, and Team Detroit.  Mark also has over a dozen years of experience in media sales at Univision, broadcast.com and Yahoo! Most of his media and marketing experience has been in the automotive category, though he has worked on accounts as diverse as Entertainment, Restaurants, Package Goods and B-to-B. 


Mark is a Detroit native and is glad to be back home after 10 years in California.  He recently celebrated his 33rd wedding anniversary with his wife Zoila, and has three children ranging from 12 to 27.  When out of the office, Mark is happiest seeing live music (Jam bands and Alt Rock, mostly) or singing karaoke.  He believes that we are fortunate to be as well off as we are, and tries hard to pay forward through various charitable causes.  Mark also subscribes to the notion that “Golf is a good walk spoiled,” or at least it is the way he plays it!


Jason Marchioni – FCA

Jason Marchioni is an incumbent member of the DAA Board of Directors and chair of the annual FCA Day golf outing.   He is currently the Head of Licensing and Branded Merchandise at FCA.  During his four-year tenure at FCA, Jason has managed Branded Entertainment, Sports Marketing, Media Events and Media/Social Media for Jeep, FIAT and Alfa Romeo. 


Jason is a graduate of Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business, with a degree in Advertising and Promotion.  Jason and his wife recently welcomed their first child in February, Carmella Joy Marchioni. 


Erin Marcus

Erin Marcus is an incumbent member of the DAA Board of Directors and co-chair of the annual DAA/313 Digital Golf Outing.  She was most recently an Account Director for Tongal, managing automotive sales and partnerships for the Midwest.  Before joining Tongal, she opened the local office for Innovid as a Senior Account Executive and spent four years leading sales for all of Michigan, Ohio and Toronto, Canada.  Prior to Innovid, Erin spent four years at PointRoll leading Operations and Account Management on the Ford business, and time at Discovery Communications as a Digital Account Manager.  Erin started her career at the agency side at both PHD with the Dodge Planning team and BBDO on the Chrysler National account team.


Erin earned a B.A. from Oakland University in Psychology.  She’s also been a long-time member of 313 Digital, the Adcraft Club, and the Detroit Advertising Softball League.  Erin just moved to Royal Oak with her husband, where they will be welcoming their first baby next Spring!


Jessica Robine – 4C Insights

Jessica Robine is an incumbent member of the DAA Board of Directors and serves on the Sponsorship and Social Media/Outreach Committees.   She is the Director of Automotive Strategic Sales at 4C Insights, focusing on Auto clients nationally for the past year. To additionally hone her sales skills, Jessica spent over a year working as a Regional Sales lead at NinthDecimal, focused on strategic partnership development for advertisers looking to use location data and measurement to drive better business results. During her 10 years on the agency/programmatic side at Cadreon, Jessica helped establish the quick-growing Advanced TV team and worked on IPG accounts across the country.  Prior to joining Cadreon, Jessica worked at Starcom on multiple pieces of the GM business, including Chevrolet and OnStar.


Jessica attended Michigan State University and received a degree in Communications, with a specialization in Public Relations.  She lives in Rochester with her husband Ben.  In her non-working hours, she loves to travel, play tennis and finely tune her golf swing.


Susan Venen-Bock – SVB Consulting

Susan is an automotive marketing professional and the owner of SVB Consulting, LLC. A long- time veteran of Ford Motor Company, she has held various positions in Sales and Marketing, most recently as Brand Content Development manager for Ford Brand, which included Multicultural Marketing.  Prior to moving to content development, she held the position of National Media Manager, responsible for all media planning and buying for Ford Nameplates.  She has held field sales positions in Minneapolis and Cincinnati as well as marketing positions in the area of advertising, global branding, marketing communications, vehicle accessory product strategy, as well as branding and marketing strategy.


In addition to her professional responsibilities, Susan is active in many other industry organizations, including serving as the 110th president of Adcraft Detroit.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Board of the American Cancer Society.  She is the 2016 recipient of the Cowger Leadership Awards for the ACS Cattle Baron’s Ball.  Susan was also named as 100 Woman in Brand Marketing in 2017.  She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in marketing from Michigan State University and is an active mentor as part of the MSU Wisdom Project as well as Women in Advertising Mentoring Program with the MSU College of Advertising. Susan resides in Grosse Pointe Woods with her family.


Drew Wyse – Turner

Drew Wyse is an Account Executive at Turner, where he started this spring, focusing on bringing digital media innovation to marketers in the Midwest.  Through the AT&T acquisition of Warner Media, Drew is working with brand partners to push the envelope by delivering targeted messaging on premium content.


Prior to joining Turner, Drew began his advertising career at Perich Advertising + Design before joining the sales side at Fox Sports Digital and most recently at Adobe where he worked on the Adobe Advertising Cloud team via TubeMogul.


Drew, a proud alumnus of Northwood University and member at DGC, is grateful for the many mentors that have made an impact on him throughout his career.  If elected, Drew hopes to foster a mentorship culture within the DAA membership by challenging advertising veterans to develop young leaders within their own organizations through the game of golf.
